<div dir="ltr">Thanks everybody for your help. As it happens, I had been messing with the SQL setup and mythfrontend before noticing the time zone issue. In the process, a .mythtv directory had been generated under my home directory. After removing it and setting SQL again as described in he docs everything worked as expected.</div>
