This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've rebuilt my system, but it's the FIRST time I've ever encountered a problem with the sound output.<br>

BACKGROUND:<br>
I've built a Frontend/Backend box with the following:<br>
Intel DH77KC motherboard,<br>
Intel i3-3240 C5U (LGA115)<br>
a pair of KingSton memory sticks: “KHX1600C10D3B1K2/16G”<br>
a 1TB HD from one of the big names.<br>
the first tuner card, is a Hauppage HVR-1800 (intended for Antenna),<br>
the second tuner card, is a Hauppage HVR-2250 (intended for CATV).<br>
Primary video output is to a HDTV via the HDMI output.<br>
A second video connection (on the motherboard) duplicates the upper-left corner's 2/3rds of the HD screen (and is next to the box in a remote storage room).<br>

The installed software is MythBuntu, running version 0.27<br>
