<p dir="ltr">Broadcast channels OTA are not encrypted (by law). Retransmitted channels on cable are now allowed to be protected/encrypted.</p>

<p dir="ltr">While it does not make the Ceton/Prime any cheaper, Comcast will give you 1 or 2 CableCards free for up to 5 years free (depending on your particular circumstances, although most will qualify for far less). Read all the info and references on your bill.</p>
