<div><br></div><div>This morning the CEO said the equipment costs for Aereo are about $50 per user with a 5 year lifetime [1]. It seems to me that number could be reduced quite a bit.</div><div><br></div><div>As many of you know Aereo's service uses free Terrestrial Television and cloud based services. I think the Aereo service is demonstrating how the MythTV community, or partners etc, could provide over the air channels legally. How feasible do you think it would be for some users, or locally based projects, to provide these channels? </div>
<div><br></div><div>If my understanding of this is correct, a mythtv user could setup a bunch of these small antenna's and distribute the over the air recordings within an area where the TV station broadcasts. Have any ham radio people and mythtv developers, or other projects, discussed doing something like this?</div>
