So I guess my question is, has there been any developments that I simply haven't found a record of that would allow my backend to record directly via IP, or some sort of dedicated compatible tuner for Mediaroom?<br>
</blockquote>

Microsoft Mediaroom is encrypted. Analog capture off a box is the only option.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>My cable is also encrypted, but with a HDHR Prime I can record it... so the fact that it's encrypted does not necessarily mean that it cannot, under any circumstances, be recorded. I was hoping that someone out there made a 'psudo STB', like the HDHR Prime, that was compatible with Mediaroom to facilitate recording. Obviously such a device would need to be keyed/activated by the carrier to decrypt the channels, but it would give me some hope.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I know that TDS upgraded to Mediaroom 2.3 in May, which is advertised as offering PC and Phone playback (obviously assuming the carrier will support it). And who knows what will happen with the Ericsson acquisition, hopefully they will encourage carriers to make it a bit more open.<br>
</div><div><br></div><div>I guess I will just have to monitor things to see if anything develops.</div></div></div></div>
