Hi all, I am hooked up to Comcast Cable using a HD Homerun Tuner and
scanning using QAM.
Just a heads up. Comcast is rolling out encryption for all (including basic)
channels across the country over the next some months (where months
is likely to drag into 2014 for some areas). Comcast has not pre-announced
the schedules for the areas to be converted (which are likely to depend on
the availability of acquiring HD-DTAs in sufficient numbers), but since you
appear to live in a major market area, it is likely that you should start
considering your options (OTA, or CableCard OCUR tuner) for the near
future for your local channels rather than expecting that clear QAM
will continue to work.
You beat me to it. Ours (Rockford, IL) is being encrypted Jul 16th.. Just switched everything over to Antenna. There is no future in ClearQam anymore unfortunately (at least as far as Comcast is concerned).
