You can upgrade using the</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">cli (or using the gui on platforms that support it) at any time. However,</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">note that with the Prime, firmware upgrades are new versions only.</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">Due to restrictions placed up OCUR solutions, it is not supported to</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">downgrade firmware (the reason has to do with making sure that any</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">DRM fixes cannot be undone by loading old firmware). As with any</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">firmware update, updates can result in improvements or regressions.</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">Note that if you choose to install one of the Beta firmwares, you</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">should definitely regularly check the SD forums for newer versions</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">(and release versions) since occasionally the Beta firmwares are</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">somewhat finicky.</font><br><br><font face="Arial" size="3">Full disclosure, I tend to run the latest beta firmwares, and have</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">generally been pleased (although there was that one version which</font><br><font face="Arial" size="3">was replaced a day or so later because it was so broken).
