It's just another button that sends a signal to the I/R receiver which<br>
then interprets that signal as the button on the remote that has the<br>
letters P-O-W-E-R written on it.<br>

That is, you could tell LIRC that that button was the "get me a beer"<br>
button and that's what LIRC would think it says on the remote.<br>
