Then using my drop amp to bring up the signal gain so that I could split all that off to multiple tuners. That way no tuner is limited on which channels it could record because it was connected to one directional antenna or the other.</p>
</td></tr></tbody></table></blockquote><div style>This should work... essentially your using the splitter as a combiner... they make purpose built combiners, but I have heard a splitter works almost as well. You may run into situations where noise from one antenna kills the channel for the other. You may also find that you lose signal quality on strong channels as one antenna gets the signal and the other catches a reflection of it and muddies the signal once combined (similar to multipath issues with omni directional antennas). You can buy attenuators to filter out channels from one antenna to reduce that effect.</div>

<p>How do you not create the video sources without lineups? The option for me has always been EIT/SD or XML. Do you have the channels split over each tuner based on what it receives and then tag a different lineup for it?</p>
</td></tr></tbody></table></blockquote><div><br></div><div style>I think what he was suggesting is that you create the lineups in SD... assign one to your tuner, then just scan for channels... it will pick up all of the extra channels that aren't in the lineup assigned... but you can then go in and use the XMLID provided on the SD website for the other lineup (does that make sense).</div>

<p>I can't really do that as I only have one tuner for the moment. I will add another SD lineup for the additional area that I receive and see what happens. I assume the XMLID is the number that pops up on SD when you point at the channel on its lineup page? If it isn't, how do I obtain the XMLID?</p>
