It looks like the original disk was partitioned with MBR record. But for
soie reason my Ubuntu installation thought it was GPT partition and so
did not overwrite the MBR. Is there a way to force Mythbuntu 12.04 to
write the MBR after the installation is complete. Do I need to run

Never mind. I could boot with the install CD after using kernel option<br>
'nomodeset'.<br>
<br>
I could create partitions as needed and install but the MBR did not get<br>
updated. The system now boots up in Windows 7 (with reduced disk space).<br>
Maybe HP has a security option whereby it does not allow MBR to be updated.<br>
Need to look into it :-(<br>
