So I have bought an nVidia GT630. But it seems the same problem with

So both mkv and avi files fail. yet mplayer and mplayer2 continue to
be able to play them perfectly.<br>

video aspect override and zoom = off</div><div>Playback profile = VDPAU High Quality</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>And in the Appearance settings (page 2)</div><div>Separate video modes for GUI and TV Playback = unchecked</div>
