I was reading this thread

which suggested the reinstall.<br>
<br>
Really good news, maybe if you're on Ubuntu 12.04 and you've had
problems you can try reinstalling mesa.<br>
<br>
For me on Ubuntu 12.04/Clarkdale I have had success with the
following environment<br>
<br>
a) using Xorg updates ppa -
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/">https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/</a><br>
b) Reinstalled vaapi as per instructions -
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/VAAPI">http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/VAAPI</a><br>
c) Mythtv .25/fixes (I use mythubuntu repositories, haven't got
time to recompile any more)<br>
d) Reinstalled mesa (as above)<br>
<br>
As has been mentioned, make sure appearance is set to opengl in
myfrontend. <br>
<br>
As I am using i3/i5 Clarkdale I think h/w deinterlacing does not
work those with sandy and ivy should be fine. <br>
<br>
Interesting to see how this works out with 0.26 given there have
been a few VAAPI changes -

work, but after upgrading to the latest version of libva (1.1.0)
and libva-intel-driver (1.0.18), VAAPI is working great. This is
on a Gentoo box, so I don't know if these packages are available
on other distros yet.</p>
