After looking up MythTV it looks like the package is now delivered in its application form and you pick which platform to use. I don’t want to get into the debate of which is best, but I appreciate ease of installation. Of all the flavors of linux out there I tend to use Cent-OS over the majority of others professionally, but at a personal level Ubuntu seems the most graphically user friendly…<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>My intention is rather than having it continue to run on a very old chassis, I’d love to virtualize the instance and in order to do that I purchased a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 (in case people are not aware it has a USB interface and I can share that thru the host system to a VM). I have always liked Hauppauge and their products and I am pretty certain that in order to virtualize MythTV I’ll need a USB device. So with all of that said can anyone point me at some fairly easy and current HowTo’s to install MythTV that will use the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 and the newest iteration of MythTV 0.25? I’m not really inclined towards anything in particular. My preference is something that is vastly supported and easy to install/get up and running.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>In the meantime I’m trying out the HowTo on Mythtv.org (<a href="http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-1.html">http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-1.html</a>) for Ubuntu and my first try in a VM resulted in somehow after it completed and I went into mythtv-setup it found my old MythTV backend which is on an entirely different subnet and wouldn’t let me configure the new Ubuntu instance without connecting to the old Myth server… So I’m re-installing…again… Any help would be greatly appreciated!<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Thanks!<br><br><o:p></o:p></p></div></body></html>
