<p>Firstly you should schedule the recording of the film, why run your life by the schedule of the broadcaster?</p>
<p>Secondly there is good information on this on the wiki under network control port. You would however have to send key strokes for many actions and not send commands per se.</p>
<p>So, first you would query current front end state, which should be playback,</p>
<p>Then send key space (to set bookmark)</p>
<p>Then send jump point to play in progress recording of the news (which should also be a scheduled recording).</p>
<p>Etc.<br><br></p>
