I had the same messages come up with mythbuntu. I went back and selected .24, ran sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade, thinking that the system did not get the message that .25 has been released. I had not done an update for several months. The I ran sudo dpkg-reconfigure mythbuntu-repos and did not get the development warning.

At that point I ran sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade and the upgrade went without a hitch.
