minor progress on this. If I use /dev/video1 and s-video I get a
picture, but no sound. Am using the 3.5 jack and verified it works
with other devices, but it does not work when recording with myth.
If I cat /dev/video1 > /tmp/test.mpg the recording is created, but
does not have any sound. I have looked high and low for a solution
and post #99 does not help any on this. Anyone have experience with
this problem or a hint on what I should be looking into?

Well, I finally figured it out. I was trying to use the adapter card
s-video with the 3.5 jack. I could never get it to work. I finally
found a pig tail s-video / audio adapter in the HVR-2250 box and found
that if I used that I could get video and audio. So basically, don't
use the adapter card. Still having a problem with having to restart
myth several time to get the card to be usable. I will post back if I
figure that out.
I had a very hard time getting that card to work, but since I finally figured it out (with help) It runs great... Just a thought, are you sure the card isn't switching nodes? Mine does on occasion...I tried to write an udev rule to put the card on a static node, but everything I tried doesn't seem to create the sym-link....
