I see that ticket #10414 is marked as “fixed”, so I
booted in to my laptop’s test setup running Mythbuntu 11.10
which has 0.25 installed via Mythbuntu’s repos. I ran the
update manager and installed the most current version and
tested it out. I still have no resolution to the issue;
when recording more than one thing at a time, the resulting
recordings are terrible, if I try to start 3 recordings, the
first two immediately fail and stop recording, etc.
The fix committed for that ticket corrected an issue where the
recording quality loop was causing an excessive amount of context
switches, resulting in an excessive amount of wasted CPU usage. The
assumption was that this high CPU load was causing systems with
small UDP receive windows to get starved for resources, and start
discarding data. Following that, it was assumed the lost data
issues would be resolved when the CPU load was resolved. Are you
seeing normal CPU usage, but still experiencing the data loss?
