I see that ticket #10414 is marked as “fixed”, so I booted in to my
laptop’s test setup running Mythbuntu 11.10 which has 0.25 installed via
Mythbuntu’s repos. I ran the update manager and installed the most current
version and tested it out. I still have no resolution to the issue; when
recording more than one thing at a time, the resulting recordings are terrible,
if I try to start 3 recordings, the first two immediately fail and stop
recording, etc. Now, my understanding of Git versioning and commits, etc
is right around 0, so it is ENTIRELY possible that Mythbuntu repos are still
behind the commit that #10414 indicates fixes this issue. Before I jump
then gun, can anyone tell me how I can tell if I’m just behind?

Just take the commit fragment from your version and tack it on to the github url like so:
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commits/53761e2

You can see that your package includes commits up to 20 hours ago. The commits from the bug report were 4 days ago, so it includes them, assuming they haven't been reverted in the interim (they haven't).
