fit the bill?
problem is it has an nforce chipset (which i'm not fond of for
long-term usage), but since your using a 'legacy' am2 system, then
your options are slim.

have you also checked out asrock website? asrock seem to cater for

I did look into that board and had two issues with it. Firstly, it only has stereo output (analog) rather than 5.1 output. I have a soundblaster kicking around for which i can waste a PCI slot. But more importantly the ethernet chipset on the board is Realtek RTL8211CL. I dont know if this supported in linux at all. Googling did not give any useful links (eg http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=218098)

If i were to start afresh, what board and cpu will be a good option?
