That's two completely separate concepts. Sometimes they'll share<br>
similar or even the same content. But sometimes they are completely<br>
different. Think of one as "what comes down from the guide" and the<br>
other as "what refers to the correct episode on tvdb".<br>
<br>
Some guides/stations/series refer to the seasons by a number starting<br>
at 1, some use the year that the season started in, yet other refer to<br>
them by a name as if it was totally different series.<br>
<br>
At TheTVDB you'll only find seasons starting at 1 (and some that have<br>
been entered wrong)<br>

PS: To make matters worse the episode numbering differs by country for<br>
