</div></div>the BD burner won't change playback ability (which the current status<br>
can be found by searching this mailinglist via gossamer-threads), all<br>
it will add is to allow you to burn Blu-Ray discs. If this is<br>
something you want then purchase it. They do have Blu-Ray drives that<br>
will burn DVD discs but not Blu-Ray discs, though I don't know what<br>
the incremental cost structure is exactly.<br>

It works with makemkv and sort of works with mythavtest (but I haven't tried in months) and works fine with DVDs. Personally for that price I'd go with Blu-Ray just to feel like I'm sort of future-proofing things.<br>
