No, it doesn't work like that. I'll give you my example: I get my signal from
Hannington, near Basingstoke. That's in the BBC South/Meridian area, so I get
those local channels. I also get *all* the national channels from there.

I can also get a signal from Oxford, which is /behind/ my directional aerial.
That transmits BBC Midlands/Central (south) local channels. It also transmits
*all* the national channels as well.

As I can also (!) get a signal from Crystal Palace - 60 miles away - I have to
use the procedure I outlined to you in my original post in order to make sure I
pick up the correct set of muxes, since the scanner starts at channel 21 and
goes up to 69, creating entries as it finds muxes - which are all interleaved.

If you do the same, you'll result in /one/ complete set of channels from /one/
transmitter and that should be all you need.

Pretty much get your point, and yes thanks for the original how to. But I've just been through the channel scan I got from w_scan a few days ago, and it seems I really do need all 7 frequencies if I'm going to get all the channels I can. Granted that includes Wales, but lets not be welshist. And bits of wales only occupies 2 frequencies :)

How good are you at c62- = freq stuff? Coz it seems, 634167, 658000, 738000, 754166, 794000, 802166 & 842000 are all required here to get all the available channels. Drop the first two to drop wales, but I really doubt the remaining 5 come from the same transmitter.

Meh. Got that far and realised it didn't pick up at least one freq when I did the scan ... Will redo and re-check, but the problem is still the same, a lot of duplicate channels, and a multiple guess on "suggest channel number", "update existing" etc when trying to set it up.
