<p>So capturing from sky (or virgin) legally and within the agreed terms of service would be via component capture (hdhomerun) using a scart breakout lead or svideo. </p></blockquote><div>Yes - that's what I want to do.</div>

</blockquote><div>Yes [it is less than 20 seconds] .. and no [it isn't a really huge delay] .. If the quality was acceptable then the delay would be no problem.</div><div><br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">
<p>I never watch livetv... ever... even f1 is watched a few minutes behind so i can start to watch it at my convenience and let myth do its job of scheduling rather than suddenly myth being asked to provide a tuner for livetv it wasnt expecting (and had allocated for a different recording)... tell myth what you want it to record and let it record... then watch the recorded programmes - even if they are inprogress recordings..</p>
</blockquote><div>I'm coming around to that way of thinking too - although it is quite a 'culture change' from the way of watching that we've all grown up with. I also still need to educate the OH to this way of thinking .. she is 'used to' the sky gui and controls and so there is still a need to switch between watching live TV direct from sky and watching recordings from myth. I am working on it, but giving her the ability to watch recordings of channels such as Animal Planet would definitely win me lots of brownie points :)</div>
<div></div></div><br><div>I have tried both s-video and scart breakout connections into the capture card on my server but nothing has so far proved workable.. maybe I just need some different hardware?</div><div><br></div>
