effectively disabling audio over HDMI.<br>

</font><div><div></div><br></div></blockquote></div>I second Jim's suggestion of disabling the EDID. It turns out that the problem may not be in your computer, but in your TV. If the TV thinks that audio HDMI is enabled, it will disable the analog audio inputs. You could check that by testing the PC's audio output with a separate set of speakers or headphones. <br>
However, if you upgrade to a more recent ALSA, you should be able to get audio over HDMI working on more recent video cards GT210/220 and higher. <br>Good luck,<br>-G<br>
