I went home last night and tried the -ac 2 line and was shot down on<br>
that. Apparently ffmpeg cannot switch 5.1 to 2.0.<br>

Can some one please point me to a set of up to date instructions on<br>
how to install ffmpeg. Wondering if I have a bad install. Tried to<br>
rebuild it last night on 10.04 unbuntu and failed miserably. Even<br>
though I had downloaded libx264 I was getting an error from make about<br>
not finding it. It appears all the instructions I found stopped after<br>
like 9.04. Assume I'm a noob.<br>

I did get the error to repeat last night and as I remebered it was<br>
generic. It talked about a rate, height or width being wrong when I<br>
had -vcodec copy -acodec libmp3lame and went away with changing<br>
libmp3lame to libfaac.<br>
