Is a DTX board [slightly wider, thats OK I can manage a
case for it] and lists a x16 slot BUT with a x1 lane.<br>

I couldn't believe this when I read this. What on Earth
could the reason be for having a PCIe x16 slot but with
only 1 lane? How could that be any better than just
putting 2 x1 slots on the board? I can't imagine anything
designed for an x16 slot would work very well in such a
slot.<br>

They make PCIe x1 video cards, so obviously someone thinks
they will work fine for some purposes.

<div>Actually, for the intended use, having a x16 connector but
only providing a single lane actually makes sense. This mobo
is obviously not intended for a high performance system...
however being able to drop any x16 video card in there, even
if it's crippled by the bus, is actually far better than
forcing you to find a x1 video card (not many around).</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I think they should make this more clear in their
packaging, but for any purpose I could envision for such a
board I wouldn't be affected by the single lane limitation.
But I can definitely see the advantage of having the x16 slot
in case I did want to drop a low cost video card in there.</div>

Do x16 video cards actually work in such a configuration? If so,
then I guess that would make sense, then.<br>
