MythTV will only attempt to record to folders that exist at time of recording. That means if you have a folder on a partition not currently mounted, MythTV will bypass it and go onto the next folder. This only works if you are recording to a subfolder of the mount. If you are recording to the mountpoint itself, the folder will exist regardless of whether the partition is mounted, and MythTV will attempt to record to the parent partition. It will perform write tests when you exit mythtv-setup, but I don't know if it performs similar checks prior to recording.</blockquote>
