The frontend is started by launching /usr/bin/mythfrontend which then<br>
calls mythfrontend.real<br>

mythtbuntu-frontend lunch mythfrontend in the X session if you're in<br>
the group mythtv<br>

</div></div><br>I resolved the issue in the end but I do not know why... My first attempt was to install straight from your JYA trunk packages. I was pretty sure it did not create the /etc/init/mythtv-backend.conf <br><br>
I eventually removed the JYA repositories from my config, removed all mythtv/mythbuntu packages and then installed them again from the standard mythbuntu repositories. After the install, I overlayed the JYA packages and all was well.<br>
