i think my kernel is pretty messed up already when i tried to modify
it to make sure 303u running. and when i try to configure a new card,
then everything goes everywhere! do you really think i should start
fresh? coz i have been thinking bout it yesterday but my friend told me

produce much help - merely others with similar unsolved problems, or
posts in languages I don't grok.

separate directory for the precompiled object code, with a separate dir for
each kernel version, up to 2.6.30.
Did Ubuntu 9.10 initially come with a kernel <= 2.6.30?

According to the release notes in the Avermedia 64-bit beta driver:<br>

I would be interested to see what the Avermedia driver installation log
had to say when the installation failed:<br>

In looking at the last installer dialog screen, he appears to have
symbol issues prior to trying to set up this device.<br>

Is it likely a remnant of the previous issues he had trying to get the
303U card running?<br>

If so, I would be very tempted to wipe the install, and start with a
fresh ubuntu install...<br>

I always prefer a fresh start when there are unknown variables that
could be the cause of the problem.<br>
<br>
If you wipe it clean, and start fresh, you will have computer that is
in a known state (or at least as close to known as you can get).<br>
<br>
In addition, you probablu don't have any data to worry about losing
yet. That makes it an even easier choice IMO.<br>
<br>
I saw a couple of posts on the Internet earlier today that the people
who were able to get this device working, installed the avermedia
drivers before plugging it into the usb port.<br>
