In some future time, on demand video might become the in thing.. and stations as we know it
to be on a time schedule might become obsolete. DirectTV for example packages up with
comcast internet.. The high definition television has video on demand, but that video isnt
coming in through the satellite its coming through comcast internet service to the box.. what
purpose would the satellite serve then? one would now be purchasing comcast television
station subscriptions going through their internet service under a competitors service, which is
an even higher cost.. at some point the satellite becomes nothing but a middle man, which can
be cut out, and one ends up with comcast subscription at little less than competitors fee.
but jacked up costs non the less, because they would have completely wiped out all competition,
leaving themselves in control of all mass media in this country. The dish companies need to
get into internet service via the dish and wipe out the need for for comcast all together. In the
end I think it will be good for consumers, or competition...
