I have seen these types of recordings as well, but I am recording OTA content. In my case it looks like green static of the type you previously saw in years past when you tuned a non-existent channel on analog (except it was grey back then).<br>
<br>The most recent occurrence of this has yet to be explained, but once before when this happened I traced it to a coax input that was cross threaded and had 'popped' off the HDHR unit. So your low signal level theory would seem to be valid.<br>

It seems that over the last week or two CBS on Comcast here in 95032<br>
has made a couple of bad recordings. Possibly low signal levels or<br>

screen with about 205 on the right in gray. Audio is perfect through<br>
the whole problem areas. The picture will come and go. Eventually it<br>
