post. In mythtv-setup I used delete all for both capture cards and video
sources and rebuilt things up one at time from scratch but still got the
same problem. <br><br>

It is failing with GetCurrentChannelNum even though I specified
/usr/local/bin/channel as external channel control. This is a known bug.
The workaround is blank out the box "Preset tuner to channel"
in mythtv-setup. I did that and everything works fine now. <br><br>

I have 3 tuners (1 x PVR 150, 1 x PVR 500s) that use onboard NTSC tuning
and a single HDHomerun for a total of five other tuners. The externally
controled cable box tuner is number six. All other aspects of mythtv work
fine.<br><br>
The channel change program works fine manually and is configured properly
in mythtv-setup.<br><br>

Most likely broken input connections. See

note that you may need to do both the capture card and video sources
portion to clean up the broken data).<br><br>
If that doesn't fix it, the backend logs would be far more useful than
frontend logs.<br><br>
