I have several packages with "modaliases" in the name installed,<br>
including version 180.<br>

I've already gone from hardy to intrepid to see if that made it<br>
recognize the chip, and it takes nearly forever, and even hardy recognizes<br>
all the other VDPAU-capable video chips in the house so I'm reluctant<br>
to just try jaunty without some encouragement.<br>
<br>
Anyone have a clue what's wrong ?<br>

I also had some trouble getting my ION recognized. I was using Mythbuntu based
on Jaunty. I ended up using 1.90 which seemed to the issue. I am not certain if
the ION requires 1.90 as I have heard others make comments that would indicate they
got it working with 1.80, but it did not work for me. YMMV.<br>
