The reason was quite simple. Heat. I wanted to keep heat out of my backend box that already had 5 hard drives in it. This also had the added benefit that the backend box didn't need more PSU to handle a PCI card. It could use those extra watts to power the HDDs. I found out that the HDHR had fantastic support as well. I was having issues with the HDHR not picking up some channels that my LCD TV was picking up (Comcast music channels broadcast in the clear). The devs were extremely helpful. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat (if I had the need that is).<br>
