<br>Thanks to you, I think I finally got it. I was expecting it to be an issue with lirc. After the first go-round with disabling USB_DEBUG in the kernel, I started tracking down every debug flag I could find and disabling it. I'm not sure which one it was, but I no longer have to deal with the unnecessary verbosity now.<br>
