Pete,

I have the same problem with Mythbuntu, and had the same problem with Gentoo. I did mange to have a working setup with Gentoo for around a year, but I kept putting off the xorg/intel driver upgrade, until last week, I couldnt be bothered spedning time fixing Gentoo, so put Mythbuntu on.

Basically, what I get is the POST then the 'terminal' but as soon as X loads the screen goes blank. On my Panasonic Plasma, this means out of range.

The TV incorrectly reports the modes it can display (or the PC incorrectly reads them im not sure which) so the image cannot be displayed.

The fix for this is to use a "Modeline" for your TV. I can check right now but I am certain the Mythtv Wiki has a modeline database, check there and put it into the correct place in Xorg.conf (I have not got this far yet and am unsure of the new structure of it for the new intel driver).

You should then have a picture on your screen!

Craig

2009/4/28 Pete Cap <peteoutside@yahoo.com>

Hi Andy,

Most of that went right over my head.
All I get when attempting to use HDMI is a blank screen (after the BIOS splash screen etc.) though apparently this should "just work" out of the box on an F10 install (which is what mythdora is based on right now), right?
