I ran into the same thing myself, try this thread at the Silicondust forums:<br><a href="http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5953">http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5953</a><br><br>In it there are a few python scripts, I was able to hack at one of them (I forget which one specifically) but it requires you do a channel scan in Myth INCLUDING encrypted channels first.<br>
It worked for me well enough to get the correct tuning frequencies into Myth, from there I simply manually entered the xml ids into the database.<br><br>I wind up having three SD sources for listings, Comcast analog (PVR x50), Comcast Digital (HD STB), Comcast DigitalQAM (HDHR).<br>
<br>The script I used modified only listings matching sourceid=5 in the database, I had to change it to =6 for my needs, yours will probably be differant as well depending upon your setup.<br><br>Hope this helps.<br><br>

I think he is suggesting that comcast is trying to hide the channels<br>
from mythtv in order to force him to rent a proprietary cable box to<br>
access the channels he use to tune no problem.<br>

But I agree his subject line is misleading. All together user support<br>
message lists/forums tend to have horrible subject lines. This is<br>
better then average in the misleading subjects department (but it<br>
stillhas more then it should).<br>

And to answer the original poster, the discrepancies between the<br>
hdhomerun_config scan and the mythtv-setup scan are well known. There<br>
is not a good solution that I know of. Some users have written a<br>
python script to manual insert channels into the mythconverge database<br>
without using mythtv-setup. Check the silicon dust forum.<br>

</div>To defend myself I had two reasons for creating such a openly loaded subject line. First to get attention. This list get a lot of volume.<br>

My second reason is that there is a VERY good possibility that my subject line is spot on. It is HIGHLY convenient that ALL of these 'extended basic' channels are hidden from MythTVs channels scan. Not just some but ALL. While the FFC mandated channels are all perfectly viable by Myth channel scanner. Yes the subject is slightly over the top but I don't think it that far off.<br>
