excuse the copy paste from my other messages..

I've got a fresh install of mythbuntu (8.10) on an IBM Thinkcentre M50
(P4 3ghz with 512 MB RAM). My video cards are a Hauppauge HVR-1600 and
Nvidia Geforce 6200.

the HVR-1600 is dramatically less sensitive for ATSC over-the-air reception. Our el cheapo settop box picks up the regional channels just fine with my homebrew attic antenna; however, the HVR-1600 can't use the signal. I have to get out the big guns- a huge Winegard I bought just for the purpose of grabbing one distant station. I guess I could go to the trouble of roof-mounting it and buying a rotor, but I really don't want to go there. I think the card ought to be able to tune more or less like a basic converter.

I only have one input defined, DVB-0, and the antenna is attached to the "antenna" input on the 1600. I have looked this up on the Hauppauge site and I am using the correct input. I can confirm this, the other input (called "TV") only returns analog signals.

My question, can this be tweaked? Do I have a defective unit? Or is this normal?

Thanks!
