Hi everyone!

I bought the Philips SRM5100 IR remote and USB receiver which works nearly perfectly out-of-the-box with Mythbuntu 8.10. It seems to be the same MCE compatible remote as listed on

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MCE_Remote#Media_Center_Remotes
(the picture on the very right)

Here is the link to the official Philips product website:
http://tinyurl.com/philips-srm5100

There is just one problem: When I boot up the computer, the USB receiver is in an OFF state. It only gets activated by pressing the "Power" button on the remote. Only then, the the receiver's green status LED lights up and the device is shown with "lsusb". But the remote is not working in Mythwelcome.
It does work with irw and also in MythTV (after I used the keyboard to start it from MythWelcome). If I exit MythTV back to MythWelcome, the remote is still not working there. If I then kill MythWelcome and start it from the command line, the remote is working.
When I activate the USB receiver during system boot, it works in MythWelcome and everywhere else right from the beginning.

Summary:
It seems as if the USB receiver has to be active before MythWelcome is started. As I use ACPI wakeup, and the USB receiver does not activate itself during system start, this is often not the case.
What can I do? Is there a way that MythWelcome recognizes the USB receiver subsequently?

Best regards,
Kilian
