This has happened to me twice so far. I set up a recording rule for some show for my kid, keeping only the most recent 5 episodes. My kid ends up liking the show, so I remove the 5-episode restriction and enable auto-transcode to mpeg-4. But the auto-transcode never happens -- I have to do it manually each time. Mythweb shows all the settings of the recording rule as they should be. (I use mythweb for all recording rule manipulation.) If I enable auto-transcode when I'm first creating the recording rule, everything is fine. The backend log shows no errors, in fact nothing at all shows up in the log about transcoding until I start it manually.

I thought maybe changing the job config for the recording rule would only affect newly scheduled recordings, but 2 weeks later (i.e. completely new Schedules Direct data) the same thing is still happening.

Has anyone seen this problem? Is there anything I can do in mythweb or the UI to get the auto-transcode to happen, short of deleting and recreating the recording rule?

(This is 0.21 from MythDora 5.)

Jim
allow auto-transcode, though I did have it set for the PVR-150.
