I just wanted to put out the the group that this MB is capable of
putting sound out the DVI port and with a DVI to HDMI cable and should
play with the TV directly.

Which videocard was it ?

For getting native HDMI sound via the DVI port you would need alsa to at least see a HDMI audio port ; it doesn't do that for any video cards.

I'd love to see an ALSA drivers able to use audio on any of the 9xxx cards ; would open a great range of possibilities.
Right now only the 9300/9400 IGP gives you that possibility.

Obviously, any hdmi video card can put sound out the hdmi port with
the addition of a jumper from the BM to the video card.

For hdmi audio, alsa 1.0.18 or later is required.
