I am developing a system for people who do not have a computer or internet access who watch over-the-air television in the U.S.
This is a large number of households who are largely ignored.
The offer is an open source computer running DVR software with unlimited internet access financed with directed television advertising.

The current prototype configuration:
Operating system: Ubuntu
Case: Tower
Motherboard: with integrated graphics (such as ASUS P5N-EM)
Capture card: Internal hybrid card (such as Hauppauge HVR-1600)
Wireless remote
DVR software: MythTV with add-ons for uploading DVR data and downloading directed advertising.

The hope is for this to be a service similar to TechnoVera, but financed through directed commercials instead of a monthly fee.

I would appreciate any comments regarding the system, or hardware or software recommendations.
Thanks for your help

--
Marc Allan Feldman
Director
Openivo, Inc.
Beachwood, OH
marc@openivo.com
