<br>Connect the DirecTV box via s-video cable to the capture card. Don't<br>use the coax at all.<br>I've used both an IR Blaster and serial->USB connections to control my<br>DirecTV boxes. Based on the lack of availability of pl2303 USB->Serial<br>
adaptors (you can only get the incompatible pl2303X chipsets now), I<br>would say the only option is IR Blaster.<br><br>-Brad<br><br>Hi Brad,<br><br>I went ahead and used the s-video cable to connect it to my Satellite box. I<br>
can scan channels; however I can not see any picture. It seems to be<br>recording as well. It generates .mpg and .png files in my storage<br>directories, but no picture. Are there any specific settings I am missing?<br>

<div> Sounds like you setup your tuner wrong in mythtv-setup. You want to connect your tune to the S-Video1 input.</div>
