I had a similar issue. Usually I schedule my recordings through Mythweb. There you can tell which input you want to use for the recording. From the "Upcoming Recordings" page you can double check that there are no recordings scheduled for the broken input.<br>
<br>Not sure if mythfrontend offers the same options (probably, but I don't use that often for scheduling). It's not a perfect solution, but it worked for me back when I was in a similar situation.<br><br>Regards,<br>

</div>If you have only one input on the capture card connected, however,<br>
deleting the capture card is the best bet (note that doing so will /not/<br>
delete the video source, which is the only part that's "difficult" to<br>
set up--and then, not so difficult if you do it often enough that you<br>
remember how).<br>

Myth doesn't like capture cards with unconnected inputs. Though it may<br>
work for a while, it's quite likely that one day, your system will just<br>
stop recording because things get messed up. I'd rather spend the 15<br>
seconds re-creating the capture card and 10 seconds re-connecting the<br>
input than risk recording failures.<br>

And, even if you have to delete all capture cards when you add it back<br>
so you can re-connect inputs in the desired order (i.e. if the one<br>
you're temporarily removing isn't your least-preferred input), doing so<br>
shouldn't take much time--less than 1 minute for me to "Delete all<br>
capture cards" and then set up my 4 capture cards and connect 4 inputs<br>
in the desired order (alternating between 2 different backends so each<br>
backend shares the load better).<br>
