I'm going to assume you want to view Mythtv programs using mythtv's UPNP
server. However, I would suggest you stick to mythtv clients. You
don't have to run a real front end if that's what you're worried about.
There are light weight mythtv clients that run under windows and
clients that run on media extenders. Speaking natively to a mythtv
server is feature rich. If you use the UPNP server you are giving up a
lot (i.e. commercial skipping for one).

I was playing with MythTV Player for Windows today. While the stable version of the program works nicely, the development releases all gave me an odd error saying that they don't speak protocol version 40. Apparently the newer versions only speak older protocol versions 15 to 36. Thought it was odd that a newer client would be taking a step backwards like that.

Also, I couldn't find any new development going on in the project via the forums. It's as though it was abandoned some time ago.

Haven't found any other windows clients yet, but I haven't finished searching, either...
