Buffering" and still haven't gotten it to work (though I don't know if I
tried setting them to off and on, respectively, so I'll try that later).
Also, I've tested with 4 different sound cards (including 2
non-integrated, PCI sound cards--and, yes, that means I've used 2
different mobos). Both of the PCI sound cards worked fine in my
previous hardware, so I, too, am thinking it's not an audio issue
(though I do realize that audio issues are often the cause of
prebuffering pauses/video playback problems).

Mike -
A few weeks ago, I built a system based on the Asus M3A as well. I'm running 2.6.24.7 and haven't experienced any of the network issues you speak of (although I've noticed that the cx88_dvb module seems a little less stable than before I upgraded my kernel). I've been testing my throughput on my GigE switch, so I'm pretty sure I've hit the 50GiB. Transfer speeds still look fine (180 Mb/s).

I'll be happy to share any settings if it would help (although I don't remember fiddling too much with the default bios settings)

Dave
