Those stream errors are really odd sometimes .. First I would try ot move graphics card further away from tuner and maybe soundcard too if you have separate one. Those can disturb the tuner and when playing live show those would disturb even more. Could be IRQ thing or whatever. After that I would try to put something ( cardboard maybe) between tuner and other cards. Then maybe taking power of the chassis and try if moving that away would help. I guess you h
ave tried the computer with another antenna cord and in same position as the other tuners ? Also turning the antenna cord in my tunercard to different angle seems to have small effect on the picture quality. I have those 90 degree plugs. And My friend had too strong signal and he got it better using some plugs that toned down the signal 3 db. If you can try with someone elses htpc or tunercard or something

Stranges thing I have had is with the technotrend premium card that it worked better when the lights were on in the room. I studied it and infact the error rate was alot lower when the lights were on and even using flashlight worked .. I now there is a light in my htpc to minimize errors. And I was not the only one who had this problem. While studying this, I changed the case once and power three times and lots of work.
I've tried to fix this myself for nearly a year now and as much as it kills me, I have to ask for help.

I have a Haugpauge Nova-T 500 dual DVB tuner. I can some serious stream errors on it when watching live tv. I've dicked with the LNA settings and pretty much tried them all. There is absoutely nothing wrong with my antenna rig, as I've got STB's and HDTV's that use it and have absolutely no issue with signal. Mythtv says signal is at about 56% when locking on a station.

The key thing I think is' something to do with MythTV and the way it handles LiveTV. When I sheduled TV to record, it's perfect every time! LiveTV, stream errors. You know, the glitchy screen, the pops and squeaks through the audio. It drives me insane! Now
I've done a lot of research on this, and I know everyone is going to say, "It's not MythTV because....blah". But why does recorded TV never have a problem then? Are there any other TV apps for linux I can try to isolate whether it is definitely a Myth issue or it really is something to do with my card?

Does anyone have any idea of something I can do to improve stream errors or help isolate where my problem is? I reckon the MythTv wiki needs a stream error page!!

_______________________________________________
