Hey John,
The internal player is capable of "Real FFWD/RWD", I believe the
bindings are FFWDSTICKY and RWNDSTICKY in the "TV Playback" context.
Easiest thing is use mythcontrol plugin to set/check the bindings for
your remote.

I'll give it a try - I thought 'sticky' meant you only had to press the
key once and it would keep skipping until you pressed again<br>
