<div dir="ltr">Yea, I just tried, and it plays fine with mplayer -vo x11 but not at all with -vo xv. I guess what I still don't understand is why old recordings work just fine, but newer ones don't. Maybe something changed with the recording settings in newer versions of the pvr-150 driver?<br>

</div>This sounds like an Xv error, with the video card having insufficient<br>
memory to display the size video you want. Does it happen in mplayer<br>
too? Will mplayer play with -vo x11 but not with -vo xv? (-vo<br>
specifies the Video Out method)<br>

If that is the problem then the remedy seems to vary from unfixable to<br>
various fiddling in xorg.conf, depending what video chipset/driver you<br>
use. I tried to help a friend in a local LUG with this recently and<br>
ran against a brick wall on his chipset (sis, laptop).<br>
