<div>Actually, I don't believe there is any requirement for cable operators either way and many are starting the transition to digital requiring cable boxes for tuning. The 500/150 will still work with those cable boxes via coax or s-video with an IR blaster for channel changing.</div>

<div>I'm sure others can recommend various cards but the 500/150 will still be a viable solution for non-digital recording long after 2009. My gut would say live with your current tuners until 2009 and then invest in digital-only solutions like the HD HomeRun (ethernet based) to avoid the whole PCI/PCI-E situation on various boards.</div>
